Main duties of the job
As a healthcare support worker, higher level, you will undertake a range of delegated clinical care duties in the hospital. You will support the clinical team in the delivery of a seven-day, twenty-four-hour service helping patients on their journey back to full health.

This is a hands-on role and one of the most rewarding which includes a diverse range of duties such as supporting patients with personal care, taking bloods, lending an ear to an anxious patient and providing support with routine tasks as requested by the clinical team. Other duties include monitoring patients and performing basic health checks, making patients feel comfortable, washing and dressing patients and helping to feed those patients who require extra help.

Working for our organisation
The role involves working 13 x 11.5hr shifts per month and includes working days, nights and some weekends Monday-Sunday.

Training & Qualifications
Essential criteria
3. Completed Care Certificate or ability to complete within 6 months of appointment
4. Knowledge and skills gained through any combination of alternative study and/or employment experience
Desirable criteria
5. NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent or above in Health or Health and Social Care or working towards an award
6. ESOL level 2 or equivalent (if English not first language).
7. Literacy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G) to be demonstrated at interview
8. Numeracy level 1 or equivalent (GCSE D-G) to be demonstrated at interview
Experience & Knowledge
Essential criteria
9. Experience in a public facing/customer care role or environment
Desirable criteria
10. Previous experience in a Health/Health and Social Care role
11. Previous NHS experience / Understanding of NHS/Social care systems
Skills & Ability
Essential criteria
12. Good written and verbal communication in the English language
