(3e) We are looking for a pal for our 16 year old son with cerebral palsy.
He is non-verbal, wheelchair dependent, fed through a feeding tube, dependent for all cares and has well controlled seizures.
He has a good sense humour and loves socializing. He enjoys, walks, shopping and having books read to him.
His care worker will need to be fun and enthusiastic. They will need to be able to engage and entertain a non-verbal teenager and support him to socialize with others including his siblings. They need to be able to take him for walks in his wheelchair (battery powered motor pack available).
We are seeking a care worker who is punctual, reliable and has a degree of flexibility. We are specifically looking for someone who is available 3.30-6.30 PM Tuesdays and Thursdays during term time and variably depending on need and availability during school holidays.
His care worker must be able to give feed through a feeding tube or being willing to be trained to do this. It is describable thought not essential for them to be able to give medication via a feeding tube as well. They will need to be able to work independently proving all cares, including personal cares as required.
