Family Law and General Litigation Lawyer
Salary: £45,000–£70,000 (DOE) Experience: Minimum 5 years PQE Location: Hereford, Herefordshire
Role Overview
We are seeking a Lawyer with strong experience across family law matters and general civil litigation. This role suits a confident, proactive lawyer who can manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision and deliver high‑quality client service.
Key Responsibilities
* Managing a mixed caseload of family law files and litigation matters from instruction to resolution
* Handling family law matters such as divorce, financial remedy, cohabitation disputes, and private children matters
* Advising clients on disputes including contract issues, property matters, debt recovery, and contentious probate
* Drafting pleadings and legal documents including statements of case, applications, witness statements, and settlement agreements
* Conducting advocacy at hearings where appropriate
* Liaising with counsel, experts, and third parties
* Negotiating settlements and representing clients in mediation
* Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm-wide procedures
* Contributing to business development and maintaining strong client relationships
Required Skills & Experience
* Qualified Lawyer with minimum 5 years PQE in litigation and/or family law
* Strong technical knowledge of civil procedure and family law processes
* Excellent drafting skills and attention to detail
* Ability to manage a busy caseload independently
* Confident communicator with strong client‑facing skills
* Experience conducting advocacy is desirable but not essential
* Commercial awareness and a proactive approach to practice development
