Our garden centre company continues to expand rapidly and as a result we are heavily investing in the growth of our office team. We are looking to appoint two purchasing administrators to assist our buying department. This is a key versatile role within a very talented office team who are running the most successful retail garden centre business in the southwest. Full on site training will be provided by our experienced managers. This is a busy/ fast paced office, self-motivation and organisation are required.
This is an immediate start position that would suit someone who can join our successful team within a short period and take advantage of full training in all aspects of the role.
This position is based at our site in Newton Abbot but may require you to attend other sites.
The role includes the following duties – Full in-house training provided:
* Regular reporting across a range of topics
* Creation and management of excel spreadsheets including formulas
* Data collection, entry and analysis
* Negotiation and purchasing of a wide range of products
* Communication with Asian, European and UK suppliers to place orders
* Approving packing lists, scanning barcodes and authorising orders to ship
· Processing imports using the GOV IPAFFS system
* Support to the marketing department in the creation of Point of Sale
* Other roles to assist with holiday cover
This role has extensive opportunities for progression and specialization for the right candidate and would suit an individual who is well organised and motivated.
Skills and experience required for this role are:
* Exceptional attention to detail
* Highly organised
* Good understanding of excel including writing basic formulas eg 'A3=A1+A2'
* Ability to use mental maths to check sums and ensure they seem correct
* Good levels of English – both spoken and written
* Ability to work within a team
* Ability to time manage and prioritise
* Good understanding of IT Systems and Software
Details of this role:
* The role would require applicants to work Monday to Friday with occasional shop floor support needed on key trading weekends throughout the year – flexibility to help is an advantage
* We can offer £12.50 to £14.50 per hour with flexibility to work 35 hours to 40 hours per week – exact working hours to be agreed
* Holiday is pro rata based on hours worked – approx. 28 days
* The role will be supported by full on-site training by our experienced head office team
