Overview
We are seeking a reliable and professional Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods and materials to various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining excellent communication with clients and team members. This role offers an opportunity to utilise your driving expertise within a dynamic logistics environment, contributing to the smooth operation of our supply chain. The ideal applicant will possess strong mechanical knowledge, excellent driving skills, and experience in delivery operations.
Responsibilities
* Safely operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed lorries, adhering to all road safety regulations and company policies
* Deliver goods to specified locations efficiently and on schedule, maintaining accurate delivery documentation
* Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues promptly to ensure vehicle safety and compliance
* Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
* Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
* Assist with warehouse operations as needed, including inventory management and stock organisation
* Maintain a clean and organised vehicle interior and exterior at all times
* Follow all health and safety protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and others
Experience
* Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver
* Knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
* Experience with warehouse operations or logistics is advantageous
* Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
* Mechanical knowledge is desirable for basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting
* Delivery driver experience involving route planning and time management skills is highly valued

Pay: £26,500.00-£27,000.00 per year
