We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Locum Consultant ENT Surgeon to join our highly skilled ENT department. The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the increasing activity in ENT and Head & Neck services. This 12-month post offers the opportunity to apply for a permanent position upon successful completion of the term.
About the Department: Our ENT department provides both acute and elective ENT services, covering a wide range of general and subspecialty areas, catering to the local population as well as patients referred from beyond our immediate area. As a result, the team sees an exciting and varied caseload, dealing with advanced and complex pathologies across multiple ENT and Head & Neck sub-specialties including Thyroid and Parathyroid.
The current team consists of 10 Consultants, 9 Registrar grade and 8 SHO grade doctors and Specialist head and neck /thyroid cancer nursing and allied health professional team & Advanced Nurse Practitioners.
The role will also include a teaching and mentorship commitment, with opportunities to support medical students, junior doctors, and surgical trainees, helping them to develop and grow in their careers.

Main duties of the job
Out-patient and in-patient services for general ENT patients.
DCC clinical and administrative duties, emergency and on-call duties, and quality assurance and improvement duties in line with the specialty's plans and the objectives of the Trust.
ENT on-call duties shared amongst 9 (including this post) consultant colleagues and currently assessed as 2PA primarily on the acute base at Pinderfields Hospital with advice and support for the resident emergency care and transfer teams at our Dewsbury and Pontefract hospitals in the event of emergencies presenting.
Administrative duties, for which office space and dedicated secretarial support is provided as well as networked computer access.
Supporting Professional Activities in accordance with the Trust Framework, with at least a minimum of 1.5 SPAs included in the core 10PA timetable. Additional SPA or DCC time may be commissioned in line with the skills of the successful candidate and changing requirements of the service.
Development of an area of specialist interest complimentary with the needs of the service.

* Medical Degree from recognised medical school
* Final Fellowship of a Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS (ORL HNS) or equivalent) in otorhinolaryngology
