Overview

Tesco Colleague - Customer Service Desk - Fulbourn Cherryhinton role at Tesco.

Salary: Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.45 per hour; this increases to £13.66 for stores within the M25. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It is our policy to offer new colleagues a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week. If you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12), we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

The following are the availability windows we would like you to be available to work. We will schedule your contracted hours within these times and you will have 3 weeks’ notice of exactly when your shifts will be. We are happy to support flexibility; if your availability closely matches but is not exact to the advertised times, we’d still love to hear from you.

Responsibilities

* Being a colleague in one of our stores means you will help to serve our shoppers better every day.

* Know your customers and serve them with passion and pride; provide great natural service.
* Put into practice training to work safely, effectively and to serve customers brilliantly.
* Handle customer complaints and feedback professionally, leaving customers satisfied.
* Record customer details accurately and treat information as confidential.
* Carry out safe and legal checks on the desk you are trained for, reporting next steps to the Shift Leader/Team Manager.
* Record and dispose of waste responsibly, following food waste and recycling routines.
* Record and process returned items from customers.
* Sign in visitors and ensure awareness of health, safety and fire procedures.
* Control desk keys correctly and liaise with Shift Leaders, Managers and Security with clear communication.
* Participate in seasonal, community and charity events to create an inclusive atmosphere.
* Work across the store in service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
* Handle products with care to maintain quality and ensure they reach customers in the best condition.
* Be yourself, live the Tesco values, make everyone feel welcome and follow policies.
