Overview
Certain Advantage are hiring for a Stress Engineer based in Derby. This role is on a 12-month contract basis and is Outside IR35.
Role and Responsibilities
* Ownership of stress analysis of assigned components.
* Collaborate with support functions as needed (stress analysis, life management, heat transfer, materials, design).
* Ensure assigned components meet all technical and functional requirements.
* Interface with global engineering organizations and other internal organizations (e.g. design) as required to support activity on assigned components.
* Generate and deliver technical/program presentations to internal and external customers as required (systems tech review, design review and internal analysis review).
* Write Design Study Summaries (Design Definition Record), Technical Memorandums, Coordination Memos, and Certification Reports as required to document design engineering activity on assigned components.
The Individual
* 3+ years gas turbine experience
* 2D/3D stress analysis of rotating parts (discs, blisks, shafts, seals, airfoils)
* Advanced modelling (friction, elastic/plastic)
* Proficient in ANSYS Mechanical APDL, Hypermesh, UG NX
* Life analysis: fatigue, damage tolerance, fracture mechanics
