Overview
This is a Supervising Social Worker position within Children's Social Care, supporting foster carers and ensuring high standards of care for children placed in fostering arrangements. The role requires a confident, experienced practitioner who can manage a varied caseload, maintain compliance with statutory requirements, and contribute to the ongoing development of fostering services. Provide supervision, guidance, and support to foster carers.
Responsibilities
* Complete assessments, reviews, and reports in line with statutory and regulatory frameworks.
* Ensure the safety and wellbeing of children through regular visits and monitoring.
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to support placement stability.
* Maintain accurate, timely case records and documentation.
* Participate in team meetings, training, and service development activities.
* Contribute to fostering recruitment, training, and retention initiatives where required.
Qualifications
* Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
* Proven experience within fostering, safeguarding, or children's social care.
* Strong assessment, report-writing, and case management skills.
* Ability to build effective relationships with carers, children, and professionals.
* Confident working independently and managing competing priorities.
* Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation, guidance, and best practice.
* Enhanced DBS required.
