About the role
We are seeking an organised and detail-focused HR Administrative and Governance Support Assistant to support HR policy activity, governance processes and committee administration. This role involves coordinating meetings and hearings, managing records, and providing high-quality administrative support within a policy environment.
The position is set to commence ASAP and will be full-time for an initial duration of 12 weeks with a pay rate of £16.92 per hour + holiday pay.
Key Duties
* Support delivery of HR policy advice and assist with governance processes and meetings
* Administer HR panels and hearings, including scheduling, documentation and coordination
* Support engagement with Trade Unions, including arranging meetings and maintaining records
* Organise meeting logistics, including booking rooms, catering and maintaining schedules
* Assist with policy development projects and administrative tasks
* Monitor shared inboxes and respond to queries in a timely and accurate manner
* Draft correspondence, reports and documents, including support for Freedom of Information requests
* Maintain and improve record-keeping and filing systems
* Update website and SharePoint content
* Provide general administrative support to the wider team and assist with casework preparation where required
Selection Criteria
* GCSE-level education (including Maths and English) or equivalent
* Ability to communicate policies and procedures clearly, both verbally and in writing
* Strong organisational skills with ability to meet deadlines
* Experience providing high-quality administrative and customer service support
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel and SharePoint (or willingness to learn)
* Ability to work independently and collaboratively
* Willingness to undertake training and professional development
* Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
* Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with a range of stakeholders
