Our IT department assist the wider office with technical queries and building systems and platforms require for the successful maintenance and evolution of the business. We are looking to add an IT Desktop Support Engineer to this busy team.
As an IT Desktop Support Engineer your responsibilities will include, although are not limited to:
* Oversee delivery of End User IT support services to the local Burnopfield and Gateshead sites.
* Take ownership of support requests and incidents from Freshservice and ensure they are resolved accordingly
* Work closely with colleagues on the delivery of IT services to the business, respond promptly and recommend on improvements.
* Ensure that local businesses requirements are always well understood and met.
* Document processes and solutions, technical guidelines to help support and share knowledge with team members
* Ensure & support the maintenance of technical documentation and help maintain compliance with rules and guidelines of the organization
* Provide guidance and support the adherence to change control procedures
* Develop great & positive professional relationships with stakeholders based on respect, and honest customer service.
* Share valuable experience in the provision of good technical support in the enterprise
* Act as a facilitator and show resourcefulness wherever necessary to determine suitable methods and procedures in problem resolutions
* Use valuable experience, judgement and initiative, working independently when required
* Diligently support all works on projects & ensure security compliance of all end user devices
To be successful in this role, you should be able to demonstrate:
* Possess at least 3 years IT Experience in site support, Desktop & Systems IT support in the enterprise
* Experience of End User/Desktop Support: Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Modern Desktop, and mobile devices troubleshooting & management
* Understanding of Windows Server OS platform environment and hardware support experience, as well as Active Directory, Group Policy and network hardware
* Good understanding of Windows NTFS security, network access shares, printer management
* Ability to prioritise support tickets, and research on solutions
* Experience with Microsoft 365 stack (Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, Intune, Azure AD)
* Experience with Sophos solutions support or similar product for endpoint threat management & network
* Understanding of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, LAN / WAN, DHCP, DNS, Routing, Switching and Firewalls
* Experience installing and configuring laptops, desktops and printers within the enterprise
* Experience with computer imaging & OS cloning technologies, remote management solutions such as ManageEngine Endpoint Central
* Possess analytical & logical mind in problem solving
* Clear understanding IT policies & the necessity of maintaining standards.
* Ensure every effort in ensuring that the company’s data, tools and information systems are protected
* Experience of supporting employees, liaise with external support providers in a Hybrid IT environment (On-Prem & Microsoft 365 and Azure)
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Hours of work for this role are 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 09.00 – 18.00
