Responsibilities

Role Description

Role Responsibilities

Working as part of the BAU team on a fixed shift rota after 18:00.

BAU works

* Installation of cabling requests (copper and fibre following HSBC protocols)
* Attending to IN’s and faults
* Administering client IT systems to ensure procedures are followed
* Liaising with clients and their customers to ensure timely delivery and communication of works
* Arranging and attending change records when required
* Providing on-call cover
* Carrying out cable recovery as needed
* Installing and connecting network equipment
* Work location will be either SYGDC or WGDC (Tankersley / Wakefield)
* Own vehicle required for travel between sites

Cabling Installations

* Assisting cabling infrastructure teams
* Receiving and checking deliveries


Qualifications

Required knowledge, skills, and experience:

* Experience in data centre environments
* Experience with structured cabling systems (manufacture accreditations advantageous)
* Network equipment connectivity and installation experience
* Knowledge of data centre platforms (I-Series, Z-Series, SAN, etc.)
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office
* Health and Safety awareness (ECS, SSSTS, or IOSH certification advantageous)
