Join our newly established EHC part‑time schools team. Provide high‑quality, neurodiversity‑affirming support to children and young people with Education, Health and Care Plans. Support educational settings to create language & communication‑rich environments, coach and train staff, and deliver direct assessment and intervention to children and young people within the school setting.
Responsibilities
* Provide assessment and evidence‑based intervention to children and young people with speech, language and communication needs as identified in their EHCP.
* Work in partnership with parents, carers, education staff and other health and social care colleagues.
* Provide information and support to parents, carers, the wider children’s workforce and other professionals.
* Manage own delegated caseload of children independently across a variety of settings.
* Collaborate with school staff, the multidisciplinary team and the wider children’s workforce to provide a coordinated approach to children’s speech, language and communication needs.
* Identify, deliver and analyse a wide range of clinical assessments to determine the strengths and needs of the child or young person.
* Provide coaching and training to education staff.
* Develop language, communication and neurodiversity‑affirming environments within settings.
* Contribute to annual reviews to update recommendations about what the child or young person needs.
* Maintain accurate records and update them in the clinical system.

Person specification
Experience
* Experience working with or supporting children or young people with a range of speech, language or communication needs, including placements during a university degree.
* Experience in identifying, conducting and analysing assessments.
* Knowledge of record keeping and safeguarding principles.
Skills and knowledge
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Knowledge of a range of formal and informal assessments.
* Knowledge of therapeutic approaches for use with a range of speech, language and communication needs.
* Ability to work independently, organise a varied caseload and meet competing demands.
* Capacity to devise and deliver training and coaching to others.
Qualifications
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy Degree.
* Registered as a Speech and Language Therapist with the Health Care Professions Council.
* Member of the RCSLT.
* Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle to travel to different locations within working hours.
