Remit:
* Fantastic opportunity for a skilled Product & Tool Designer to join a forward thinking business with a strong track record of investment in machinery, tooling and innovation.
* This position will suit an experienced CAD/CAM Designer with demonstrable experience in 3D modelling and product/tool design within a manufacturing environment
* This role requires strong technical design capability, the ability to translate customer requirements into practical solutions, and a willingness to engage directly with customers when required
Role:
* Design and develop products and associated tooling to support new and existing business
* Produce detailed 3D models, assemblies and manufacturing drawings using Fusion, SolidWorks or SolidCAM
* Develop tooling concepts from initial brief through to production-ready designs
* Generate and support CAM data where required for manufacturing processes
* Work closely with production and commercial teams to ensure designs are practical and cost-effective
* Attend customer meetings and occasionally travel to customer sites for project discussions and technical support
* Support continuous improvement and modification of existing tools and products
Experience Requirements:
* Strong experience in 3D modelling within a manufacturing environment
* Proficiency in Fusion, SolidWorks or SolidCAM (experience in at least one is essential)
* Experience designing products and/or tooling
* Good understanding of CAD/CAM principles and manufacturing processes
* Background does not need to be within thermoforming or plastics, but relevant design experience is essential
* Strong problem-solving ability and attention to detail
* Confident communicator with the ability to liaise directly with customers when required
* Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
* Experience within FMCG manufacturing environment
* Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a fast-paced environment
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and production management software
