Role: IT Field Engineer Location: Cheltenham Salary: Up to £40,000 Car Allowance & Expenses Are you a confident IT Support Engineer with experience across 1st to 3rd Line? We're working with a well-established MSP based in Cheltenham who are growing their team with a Field Engineer to deliver hands-on technical support to their diverse client base across the local area. What you’ll be doing: Providing on-site support at client locations around Cheltenham and Gloucestershire, tackling networking, infrastructure and user support issues. Delivering remote helpdesk support (1st to 3rd Line) from the office, troubleshooting everything from Office 365 and Windows Server to networking and backups. Acting as a trusted technical partner to clients, building relationships, spotting opportunities for improvement, and representing the business in a positive light. Working on a wide variety of environments, every day is different, and you'll be exposed to multiple industries and setups. Tech you’ll work with: Windows Server (2016/2019/2022), Active Directory, Group Policy Office 365, Exchange, SharePoint, Teams Azure (IaaS, AAD), basic AWS exposure a bonus Networking: switches, firewalls, routers (Cisco, Ubiquiti, DrayTek etc.) Backup solutions: Datto, Veeam, Acronis RMM tools: ConnectWise, Autotask, or similar What we’re looking for: Solid background in IT Support, ideally from an MSP or similar fast-paced environment Confident across 1st to 3rd Line, with good all-round knowledge of infrastructure Comfortable working independently on-site, solving problems and liaising with non-technical users A clean driving licence, you’ll be travelling to client sites regularly Strong communication skills and a proactive, customer-focused mindset Salary & Benefits: Salary up to £40,000 depending on experience Car Allowance Expenses Hybrid setup, split between field visits, helpdesk support, and occasional WFH Certs and training support (Microsoft, Azure, networking etc.) Friendly, down-to-earth team with a strong reputation in the local market If you’re someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and working closely with clients across a range of technologies, this role offers the perfect blend of hands-on support and field engineering work.
