Job Title: Registered Adult Nurse – Prison Healthcare Services
Are you a compassionate and dedicated Registered Adult Nurse looking for a unique and rewarding challenge? We are seeking skilled professionals to join our healthcare team within a secure custodial environment.
About the Role
As a Registered Adult Nurse working within prison healthcare services, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals in custody. You will provide comprehensive primary care to a diverse and often complex patient population, ensuring equitable access to healthcare services equivalent to those available in the wider community.
Responsibilities
* Deliver safe, effective, and evidence-based nursing care to patients within the prison setting
* Undertake clinical assessments, triage, and care planning
* Provide primary care services, including health promotion, screening, and chronic disease management
* Administer medications and treatments in line with professional guidelines
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including GPs, mental health professionals, and custodial staff
* Respond to medical emergencies within the establishment
* Maintain accurate, confidential patient records
Requirements
* Registered Adult Nurse (RGN) with a valid registration (NMC)
* Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* A non-judgmental, compassionate approach to care
* 6 months experience working within NHS in UK is essential
* Experience in primary care, emergency care, or secure settings is desirable but not essential
