Overview
An opportunity has arisen for the position of a Streetworks Compliance Inspector with knowledge and experience of working in a street works environment. The role aims to aid adherence to the New Roads and Street Works Act (NRSWA) 1991, focusing on the code of practice for Safety at Street Works and Road Works concerning signing, lighting, and guarding. The inspector will undertake category A inspections across Oxfordshire (and surrounding areas for one of our long-standing clients) to determine whether client operatives or sub-contractors comply with statutory requirements and to assist in remediation where they do not.
A live online reporting system will support this by providing evidence of inspection content, relevant actions required, or associated observations. This is a full-time, salaried position and will include necessary equipment and PPE.
Responsibilities
* Undertake category A inspections across Oxfordshire (and potentially surrounding areas).
* Assess compliance with statutory requirements under NRSWA and its code of practice for Safety at Street Works and Road Works.
* Identify non-compliance and provide remediation guidance to client operatives or sub-contractors.
* Record inspection content and actions required using the online reporting system; capture observations for evidence.
* Collaborate with team members, client representatives, and the public as needed.
* Maintain current NRSWA qualifications and relevant equipment as part of daily duties.
Qualifications
* Current NRSWA qualification to the Supervisor Standard.
* Previous experience in highways and streetworks is essential.
* Current, clean UK driving licence.
* Ability to work well as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues, client representatives, and the public.
* Experience with recording information on a tablet/laptop is essential.
