About the role
We are looking for a Principal Psychologist to join our established interdisciplinary chronic pain team based in Lincoln. We are looking for an aspiring psychologist with a passion for working in the field of chronic pain management, and experience of managing a caseload within a physical health setting.
You will provide specialist psychological assessments and formulations, and deliver individual and group interventions as part of our interdisciplinary community-based chronic pain service, working alongside nurses, doctors, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists.
You will have excellent communication and relationship skills and be resilient in responding to sometimes hostile, antagonistic or highly emotive situations. You will develop and foster conducive relationships with local and national clinical stakeholders including IAPT services, GPs, secondary care and other clinically important contacts.
You will use your knowledge, experience and skills to provide advice and consultation on psychological aspects of pain management to other health professionals and to advance knowledge and practice of psychological theories and principles.
You will have a British Psychological Society Accredited post-graduate doctoral degree in an applied field of psychology (clinical, health or counselling) and will be registered with The Health & Care Professions Council as a ‘Practitioner Psychologist’.
