Our highly regarded Estate Management & Valuation Department provides professional and consultancy services for a number of local authoritys and public sector organisations across the South West Peninsula. We have a strong and varied forward order book and offer local delivery supported by national capability.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Chartered Senior Estates Surveyor to join the team ideally on a full time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Main Responsibilities:
1. Property acquisition by negotiation or Compulsory Purchase Powers (where available)
2. Property disposal by private treaty, tender or auction
3. Taking and granting leases, tenancies, licences, hirings, easements, concessions and other legal or equitable interest
4. General management including rent reviews, surrenders, assignments, sub lettings, improvement works, term compensation and dilapidation
5. The verification of rating assessments including appeal work where appropriate
6. Insurance, capital and rental valuation
7. Asset valuations for accounting purposes
8. Scheme / Project estimates, appraisals and coordination
9. Planning applications and appeals
10. Observe and comply with the quality management system of the team to ensure that work commitments are undertaken on time, to budget, to target fee and to the satisfaction of the client.
11. Undertake a personal fee earning case load of work commensurate with agreed targets.
12. Represent clients of the NPS Group as required at inquiries, tribunals, courts, appeals, arbitration and such other significant relates activities as required.
13. Responsible for identifying new business opportunities.
Candidate Requirements:
14. Professional Chartered membership of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors
15. Bachelors Degree or equivalent in an Estates related discipline
16. Holds a current site card or is prepared to immediately attain
17. Extensive experience in a similar or related role
18. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
19. Legal knowledge of landlord and tenant, compulsory purchase and compensation, and knowledge of property valuation techniques
20. Familiar with relevant construction, health and safety legislation and the risks and hazards associated with asbestos
