Overview
Senior Environmental Consultant role at Arup, within Climate and Sustainability Services, Environment team. Based in the North-West & Yorkshire geography. The role focuses on coordinating environmental input to design activities and delivering Environmental Impact Assessments (EIA) for projects across the UK, particularly major national infrastructure in transport, water and energy sectors. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team alongside environmental, planning, engineering and urban design specialists to deliver high-quality environment and sustainability consultancy services.
Responsibilities
* Undertake technical work and assist with proposal preparation and marketing activities.
* Drive a holistic approach to design to realise positive environmental outcomes and deliver environmental impact assessments for projects.
* Promote the management of the assessment process and coordinate technical teams, review inputs, write environmental reports (including EIA screening letters, EIA scoping reports, Environmental Statements) and support the review of topic reports/inputs for compliance with EIA Regulations and project details.
* Collaborate with internal and external teams to deliver high-quality environment and sustainability consultancy services.
Qualifications
* Education to degree level in a relevant subject.
* A Chartered member (or working towards Chartership) of an appropriate institute (e.g. Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment (IEMA) or equivalent).
* Project knowledge in Energy and/or Water sectors desirable.
* Experience of undertaking EIA in the UK and knowledge of other UK regimes (e.g. DCO, hybrid Bill).
* Knowledge of carbon and sustainability assessment tools (e.g. BREEAM) desirable.
