This prestigious, top 30 ranked US Law firm are looking to appoint an External PR & Communications Manager to support with PR & Communications across Europe. The successful candidate will lead strategic communications programmes, enhancing the firm’s reputation through media engagement, storytelling, and stakeholder collaboration, supporting continued growth and recognition.
The External PR & Communications Manager will join a small but high performing team of 3 based in London, and work collaboratively with the PR & Communications team in the US. There is huge scope for career progression.
Responsibilities
* Develop and maintain relationships with key media outlets and industry influencers across Europe.
* Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders to implement strategic communication initiatives aligning with business goals.
* Identify media opportunities, shape thought leadership campaigns and lead proactive pitching efforts.
* Draft and coordinate press releases, campaign messaging and client communications.
* Serve as a primary contact for media enquiries, interviews and reactive press requests.
* Coordinate with external agencies and utilise media monitoring tools to track coverage and measure KPIs.
* Analyse industry trends and competitor activity to inform media strategy.
* Support global communications efforts and provide coverage backups as needed.
Experience required
* A minimum of 5 years experience in PR and Communications, within the legal sector.
* Fluency in German or French language is highly desirable.
* Proven ability to build and maintain tier 1, business and trade media relationships.
* Comfortable building relationships with senior stakeholders, Partners and Fee Earners.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and deliver under tight deadlines.
* Proficient in media monitoring, news distribution software, and data reporting tools.
* Ability to work independently with initiative and handle confidential information professionally.
* Comfortable navigating a fast-paced, global environment.
* Willingness to travel as needed.
