Working Pattern

Working pattern Monday-Friday 7am-7pm


Eligibility & Qualifications

Suitable candidates will require Histopathology experience post-registration. Candidates must be HCPC registered to be appointed as a band 5, however, candidates working towards their IBMS registration portfolio will be considered for appointment at a trainee level ( A trainee (non HCPC registered) will be at Band 5 Annex 21 )


Responsibilities

* You’ll routinely process tissue samples, in line with department protocols and ISO 15189 standards
* You’ll work as part of a team of highly dedicated scientific staff to ensure the quality of all tests performed using internal and external quality schemes
* You’ll perform specialist automated and manual tests throughout the department and be involved in auditing processes, reagent control, and maintenance of equipment
* You’ll support in the day-to-day supervision of Medical Laboratory Assistants within the department
* You’ll rotate through all sections of the department and will be supported to become a fully trained and competent member of the team


Salary & Benefits

* Annex 21 Options pay scales, dependent on holding a professional qualification:
* (i) up to 12 months prior to completion of training: 75% of the top of the band
* (ii) more than one but less than two years prior to completion of training: 70% of the top of the band
* (iii) more than two but less than three years prior to completion of training: 65% of the top of the band
* (iv) more than three years from completion of training: 60% of the top of the band
* Pay will not fall below national minimum wage
