Commissioning Engineer

Location: Lancashire (Ref:24117). Mainly UK, some European Travel. Salary: £50-55k+ VAT, Overtime.


Commissioning Engineer - The Role

* Commissioning and ensuring equipment operates to specification
* Conducting electrical checks, IO testing, calibration, and system validation
* Diagnosing faults, troubleshooting, and carrying out repairs
* Creating and executing test procedures
* Supporting installation activities across electrical and mechanical systems
* Liaising with contractors and internal engineering teams during projects
* Providing technical support to customers and internal stakeholders
* Training client staff on operation and maintenance where required
* Producing daily site reports and progress logs
* Identifying risks/issues early and proposing solutions
* Supporting continuous improvement of operational procedures
* Carrying out routine servicing and calibration visits globally
* Working to tight deadlines in fast‑paced project environments


Commissioning Engineer - The Person

* Strong technical background in electrical, mechanical, or control systems
* Experience in commissioning, testing, or field service engineering
* Excellent fault‑finding and troubleshooting skills
* Good understanding of industrial systems (electrical, sensors, pneumatics)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Customer‑focused with a professional approach
* Able to manage workload and prioritise effectively under pressure
* Proactive, self‑motivated and solution‑oriented
* Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
* Good IT and analytical capabilities
* Commercial awareness
* Willingness to travel and work on customer sites (UK & international)
* Flexible to work shifts and unsociable hours when required
