IT Applications & Business Systems Manager
Location: Hybrid – 2 days per week in Gloucester
Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 + benefits
A well-established organisation is hiring an IT Applications & Business Systems Manager to lead support and service delivery across a suite of core business applications.
This is a hands-on leadership role with responsibility for the performance, stability and improvement of multiple line-of-business systems. You’ll act as the key contact between users, internal IT teams and suppliers, owning incidents, changes, and enhancements from initiation through to resolution.
What you'll be doing:
Lead the application support function for key business systems
Act as the point of contact for service issues, escalations, and change requests
Monitor performance, availability and usage across core applications
Ensure support and change activity aligns with business objectives and user needs
Manage third-party suppliers and licensing agreements
Own ITIL-aligned processes including incident, problem, and release management
Develop SLAs, service metrics and improvement plans
Contribute to system upgrades, integrations and testing activities
Engage business users to drive adoption, training, and feedback loops
Essential experience:
Track record supporting enterprise applications within a service-led IT function
ITIL v3 or v4 knowledge—able to implement process improvements and manage service levels
Experience managing internal and supplier-led application support teams
Able to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Strong organisational and analytical skills
Desirable:
Experience supporting business-critical systems such as ERP, CRM, or CAD
Understanding of data protection, security and system compliance
Familiarity with project delivery methods (Agile or Waterfall)
