Manufacturing Operations Manager Based in Cheshire 3-piece canmaking experience Job ref: JE /64456 We are working exclusively with a specialist European packaging group seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead its UK manufacturing site based in Cheshire. This is a key leadership role within a global business that is continuing to expand its UK presence. The position requires an individual with proven experience in 3-piece can making who can ensure the smooth running, quality, and growth of production operations. Key Responsibilities * Lead day-to-day manufacturing operations, ensuring production lines are set up to deliver product to the highest quality and safety standards. * Oversee and drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce lead times, and improve quality management. * Ensure compliance with ISO standards, maintaining robust audit and reporting processes. * Work closely with colleagues across sales, supply chain, and senior management to ensure customer requirements are met seamlessly. * Act as the site lead for customer visits, ensuring confidence in product quality and operational standards. Candidate Profile * Essential: Proven supervisory or management experience in a 3-piece can making business. * Technical knowledge of can making processes (welding, flanging, seaming, beading, testing). * Strong understanding of quality systems and H&S requirements within manufacturing. * Ideally holds a technical qualification in mechanical engineering or a related discipline. * A hands-on, detail-oriented leader who can balance operational demands with strategic improvement. * Working Hours: Permanent, Monday to Friday: 07:00–15:00 Although a certain amount of flexibility will be required.
