An exciting opportunity to join the Emergency department.
The post holder will support the operational management of the Adults Emergency Department within the Division of Medicine. They will oversee administrative teams, including the ED patient flow coordinators and the ED trackers.
Working closely with the Emergency Department Management Team, and Divisional Management team, the post holder will help deliver key targets, ensuring effective flow of pathways and optimal use of capacity.
They will liaise daily with clinical and administrative colleagues to maintain high standards of service, resolve operational challenges, and support performance improvement. The role also includes deputising for the Manager and Deputy as required.
Main duties and responsibilities:
·To line manage and provide day to supervision for the ED patient flow coordinators and the ED trackers.
·To support Deputy Manager and Managers to manage performance, including validation of pathways.
·To keep create and manage rotas for the PFCs and trackers, including leave authorisation
·Maintain a staffing plan for the department within required service levels.
·Ensure optimum working of the teams at all times, prioritising the workload of the department in times of staff shortage.
·To act as point of contact for the senior management team in reference to the day to day management of the admin and clerical teams in the patch.
·Ensure effective delivery of staff training/development, to enable a flexible trained workforce, to meet service delivery challenges.
·Attend and participate in various meetings within the department, Division and Trust
·To assist the Manager and deputy manager in the achievement of all relevant performance targets, cross-divisional resources where necessary.
·To support recruitment of staff including the preparation of job descriptions, personal specifications, adverts and documentation required for submission to the Divisional Pay Control Panel (PCP). To chair recruitment panels and coach other staff as appropriate.
