Job Summary
37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to work 5 out of 7 days, including weekends and bank holidays.
We are seeking a proactive Portering & Transport Supervisor to lead our team in delivering a high‑quality, efficient and customer‑focused service across the Trust. Based at Fieldhead Hospital and working across other sites as required, you will coordinate daily operations, manage changing priorities and ensure services run safely and smoothly.
At the time of advertising, this role does not meet the minimum requirements set by UK Visas and Immigration to sponsor candidates to work in the UK. For this reason, we are unable to sponsor anyone for a skilled worker visa for this role. Main Duties
* Develop and maintain an efficient, professional portering and transport service.
* Line‑manage drivers and porters, providing staff support, development, 1:1s and appraisals.
* Manage staff rotas to ensure full service coverage and liaise with stakeholders across the Trust.
* Identify and implement service improvements.
* Manage a small fleet of vehicles, ensuring legal and safety compliance and overseeing maintenance.
* Ensure all staff training is current and recorded.
* Act as the primary point of contact for Porter/Transport Services and liaise with service users within the Trust and other local NHS organisations through Service Level Agreements.
* Maintain risk assessments, health and safety plans, and waste management procedures in line with Trust policy and legislation.
* Prepare and manage the financial budget of the services, raising requisitions and authorising payments.
* Assist in the development of Green Travel Plan and manage the Taxi contract.
* Contribute to Business Continuity Plans.

Qualifications
Essential:
* ILM Management Certificate Level 3 or equivalent.
Desirable:
* NHS experience.
* IOSH Certificate.
* EDCL.
Training
* Knowledge of Hazardous Waste Regulations.
* Knowledge of Carriage of Dangerous Goods legislation.
Experience
* Demonstrable experience in managing service budgets, including staffing, purchasing goods and supplies.
* Substantial demonstrable supervisory experience in specialised facilities service.
* Substantial demonstrable experience managing Health & Safety for a service or department.
* Experience of managing business change.
* Experience in utilising Microsoft packages and other IT programmes.
