We are looking to appoint a Senior Clinical Fellow to commence as soon as possible. The appointment is for a 1-year fixed term, with the possibility of a further 12-month extension.
Although the post is non-training grade, there will be direct Consultant supervision and an educational programme including annual appraisal, 4-monthly supervisor meetings, access to an e-portfolio, and relevant study leave.
There will be a specific programme of protected teaching and a wide range of other clinical training activities. The postholder is encouraged to undertake audit and quality improvement projects and will be supported to pursue Membership examinations in their chosen specialty. Options to develop formal teaching or research are available.
Main duties of the job
The post offers excellent experience in Urology and would be suitable for someone who has completed Basic Surgical Training and is looking to widen their experience prior to moving on to Higher Surgical Training.
Opportunities exist within the Directorate to conduct clinical research. The post would also be ideal for those wishing to undertake further academic study, e.g., MSc/B.Ed, with protected study time built into the job plan.

* The weekly timetable includes ward rounds, theatre sessions, outpatient clinics, and weekly audit/surgical meetings.
* Participation in the Middle Grade full shift rota.
* Continuing care of ward patients during the day.
* Perform duties in unforeseen or emergency circumstances as requested by the consultant.
* Involvement in teaching, especially undergraduate education.
* Cover colleagues during absences such as annual or study leave.
