Your role and responsibilities Reporting directly to the Senior Network Coordinator, you will co-ordinate the day-to-day works and activities that occur on the local highway network. This role is a statutory function to try to ensure the safety of the travelling public and to minimise traffic congestion on the county’s network of roads. This requires the coordinator to monitor, inspect and process permit applications, temporary traffic regulation orders and events on the public highway network of Suffolk in line with the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991 and Traffic Management Act 2004. The role will process permit applications and apply permit conditions as appropriate to applications received by both internal and external stakeholders, while maintaining parity to all those who have planned or ongoing activities on the highway network. You will need Knowledge and experience of working and/or operating within a ‘Permit Scheme’ would be an advantage. You can view a full list of requirements in the Job and Person Profile (Word). The team Network Assurance is responsible for managing the occupation of county’s road network and delivering Suffolk County Council’s Network Management Duty in line with the Traffic Management Act and the New Roads and Street Works Act.
