An exciting Band 6 Nursing opportunity has arisen for a 6 month secondment. The opportunity is on Ward 12 specialising in Gastroenterology. We are looking for a strong dynamic applicant to join the team. You will be responsible for the day to day running of shifts ensuring high standards of patient care are delivered. The role will involve management responsibilities and supporting the team through changes within the NHS.
This post requires motivation, enthusiasm, excellent communication skills and demonstration of evidence based clinical practice and open to further academic development. You must be flexible, approachable, compassionate, motivated, hardworking and be able to use your own initiative whilst also having the ability to work under pressure.
Main duties of the job
You will receive support in your new role and will be encouraged in further development. We offer a supportive, exciting and challenging work environment and we are committed to the training and development of our staff. You will be fully supported by the ward and the Practice Development Nurse in achieving all the required competencies.
This is a full-time post working 37.5 hours per week. We welcome interested individuals to contact us to arrange an informal visit to the ward.
You should have experience in an acute hospital setting. Completion of a practice assessor course is essential.

All successful applicants will be required to complete our corporate trust induction once a start date had been agreed.
Following your corporate induction you will be expected to attend the Trust’s 2-week Induction Programme for RNs, NAs, RMs, ODPs and Paramedics. The programme is full-time (please email if this is problematic) and will involve travel to both Trust sites. The programme includes supernumerary shifts in the clinical area, classroom-based sessions and e-learning.

10. Experience in acute hospital setting.
11. Experience at Senior Staff Nurse Band 5 (or equivalent)

14. IV drug therapy, IV cannulation & venepuncture skills
