About The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Theatre Scrub Practitioner to join our busy and well-established day surgery service. At The Norwich Clinic, we operate a modern-day surgery unit, including theatre suite with anaesthetic room and a 2 bed recovery area. The post holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary theatre team, delivering safe, effective, and efficient care in line with professional standards, national guidance, and local policies. This role is ideal for a practitioner who values teamwork, high clinical standards, and the predictability of a day-surgery environment. Key Responsibilities
Provide high-quality scrub assistance across agreed surgical specialties
Prepare, check, and manage surgical instruments, equipment, and consumables
Maintain strict aseptic technique and comply with Infection Prevention and Control standards
Actively participate in WHO Surgical Safety Checklists and local NatSSIPs processes
Support safe and efficient patient flow within a day-case theatre setting
Contribute to clinical governance, audit activity, and continuous service improvement
Work collaboratively with surgeons, anaesthetists, outpatients, and diagnostic teams

If you are a committed Theatre Scrub Practitioner looking to work in a high-quality day-surgery setting where patient safety and professionalism come first and you meet the following criteria, we would be delighted to hear from you.
Essential
Registered Nurse (NMC) or Operating Department Practitioner (HCPC)
Experience working as a scrub practitioner in an operating theatre
Sound knowledge of aseptic technique, IPC, and patient safety standards
Strong communication and team-working skills
Commitment to delivering patient-centred care
Desirable
Experience in day surgery and/or the independent healthcare sector
Experience across multiple surgical specialties
Interest in CPD, mentorship, or service development
Anaesthetic experience
