Job Description
Strategic Leadership
1. Provide forward‑looking financial insight and strategic direction to support sustainable growth.
2. Assess financial performance against budgets, long‑term plans, and competitive benchmarks.
3. Establish predictive financial oversight to alert executive leadership of risks or significant financial events.
4. Partner with senior executives on financial strategy, operational trends, and key performance drivers.
Financial Management & Planning
5. Develop tools, systems, and reporting to deliver timely, accurate financial and operational information.
6. Lead financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting processes.
7. Oversee monthly, short‑ and long‑term financial management activities.
8. Ensure compliance with GAAP, regulatory requirements, and audit standards while maintaining strong internal controls.
Operational & Staff Leadership
9. Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and technology systems.
10. Mentor, develop, and lead the finance, IT/business process improvement, and contract administration teams.
11. Oversee work allocation, performance evaluation, staff development, and team effectiveness.
12. Facilitate cross‑divisional collaboration across business units and corporate departments.
Cash Management & Banking
13. Manage cash‑flow forecasting, commercial lines of credit, and loan programs.
14. Develop reliable cash‑flow reporting with minimum‑threshold requirements for operational needs.
15. Optimize banking, insurance, and surety relationships to strengthen liquidity and financial stability.
Policies, Procedures & Risk Management
16. Develop financial policies and protocols that support internal controls, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
17. Support business strategy by promoting profitable growth and cost‑effective operations.
18. Provide leadership for risk management, contract review, and high‑level negotiations when required.
Investments & Executive Advisory
19. Oversee investment programs, retirement plans (including 401(k), SERP, and deferred compensation), and relationships with external advisors.
20. Serve as a financial advisor to ownership regarding investments, estate planning, and tax matters.
21. Lead financial structuring and due diligence for mergers and acquisitions.
Supervisory Responsibilities
22. Department‑level oversight of finance, accounting, IT, and contract administration functions.
