The Role The role will support the Head of Placement Operations in the development and management of the Organisation Management and Sanctions Support team within Placement Operations to support the strategic objectives of the business. This role will lead creation of robust and scalable processes and controls collaborating closely with risk and compliance, broking, placement support and client service and operations teams to provide swift and accurate sanctions and organisation screening, validation and maintaining up to date records. Operating as the first line of defence, you will lead a team responsible for instigating, monitoring, reviewing, and enhancing the effectiveness of customer due diligence and sanctions screening activities. You will work closely with the risk & compliance function to ensure alignment with regulatory expectations and internal policies, maintaining a strong control environment and driving continuous improvement. This involves managing Sanctions and KYC screening and ongoing monitoring to ensure accuracy, verification and record keeping striving for operational excellence. You will lead and inspire by example, with responsibility for mentoring, supporting, and managing junior staff as the team expands, ensuring consistent quality standards of onboarding and smooth workflow execution. Collaborating closely with internal teams, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the placement process and driving continuous operational improvements. Responsible for the initial and ongoing management of all organisation records held within the Willis Re systems. This will include: Responsible for the end-to-end onboarding process/ workflow for all organisation types (client, reinsurers, intermediaries, reinsurers) Management of Exiger input and output (our screening tool), to conduct initial and ongoing monitoring of all organisations KYC, AML, Sanctions and HRT checks and providing oversight of these checks, Maintaining accurate records in Eclipse to reflect any changes, ensuring compliance with global and local policies Verifying via D&B any updates required to organisation records, for example changes of name, address and updating Eclipse accordingly. Pools/Consortium underwriters – Verifying and updating underlying security. Where these are Lloyd’s, sourcing the information on Velonetic systems and where security is evidenced by other methods, co-ordinate with that reinsurer to obtain evidence to allow the underlying security to be updated. Where consortiums are no longer valid, updating the active and inactive dates in Eclipse so that they cannot be used on contracts which incept after the inactive date. Oversight of the uploading of bank details to organisations following the A&S verification process For Third Parties - complete and renew scorecards and complete the due diligence required. Responsible for creating and ongoing maintenance of the organisation record in Eclipse. Act as the primary point of contact for KYC and Sanctions screening activities Assess Sanctions referrals and act as first line of defence referring to risk and compliance as required. Provide assistance to broking, placement support and client servicing teams with sanctions referrals and queries Responsible for ensuring the integrity and effectiveness of KYC and Sanctions screening processes Ensure team members are trained on evolving regulatory requirements and internal standards. Monitor, analyse and act on data and turnaround times, customer satisfaction to drive continuous improvement. Escalate emerging risks and control failures to the Risk & Compliance team via the dotted line reporting structure. Collaborate cross function, to ensure workflow meets regulator and business requirements without compromising the client experience. Participate and contribute within ongoing project work Awareness of global licence requirements and updating of records as necessary Review and issue updates to the business regarding Market Security ratings and where necessary market rating downgrades About You Collaborative individual who takes ownership of team goals and outcomes. Knowledge of UN, US, UK and EU sanctions and export control orders. Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, or managing junior team members, fostering growth and capability. Confidence and proficiency with broking systems such as Eclipse is desirable. Knowledge of the London Market and Velonetic processes is desirable. Perform Second Pair of Eyes checks at relevant stages in the process including operational steps.
