Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic KP/Commis to join our dynamic kitchen team. As a KP/Commis, you will play a vital role in supporting our chefs helping with the the preparation and presentation of high-quality dishes. KP duties will be maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen including all equipment and utensil. The hotel has 2 chefs and this role you would be helping the chef on duty when it is the other chefs day off. This position is ideal for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a fast-paced restaurant environment while ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are maintained.
Responsibilities
* Assist in the preparation of ingredients and meals according to recipes and specifications.
* Support chefs in cooking and plating dishes to ensure timely service.
* Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including equipment and utensils.
* Follow food safety guidelines to ensure the highest standards of hygiene are upheld.
* Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow during service periods.
* Participate in stock management, including receiving deliveries and inventory control.
* Learn and apply various cooking techniques under the guidance of senior kitchen staff.
* Accommodation and Meals are free as is kayaking and paddleboarding from our onsite wake school.
Qualifications
* Previous kitchen experience or culinary training is preferred but not essential.
* Knowledge of food preparation techniques and cooking methods.
* Understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
* Strong attention to detail and a passion for delivering high-quality meals.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.

Job Type: Temporary
Contract length: 10 weeks
Pay: £12.50-£13.50 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 40 per week
