<div><h3>Debt & Welfare Benefits Adviser / Trainee Adviser</h3><p>Salary: £30,000 pa for experienced adviser; £25,000 pa for trainee (review after 6 months).</p><p>35 hours per week, 25 days annual leave + contributory pension scheme.</p><p>Birmingham Settlement has an opportunity to join our Money Advice Team, either as an experienced Debt & Welfare Benefits Adviser or a Debt & Welfare Benefits Trainee Adviser.</p><h3>Role Overview</h3><p>As an experienced Debt & Welfare Benefits Adviser you will already have a background in providing effective, high-quality debt and welfare benefits advice to a wide range of clients in differing circumstances.</p><p>As a trainee you will have a basic knowledge and understanding of the issues affecting people experiencing debt and benefit problems along with some experience in an advice service or customer‑facing setting and a willingness to undertake training and development.</p><h3>Responsibilities</h3><ul><li>Adaptable with excellent communication skills.</li><li>Flexible and able to manage your own workload.</li><li>Provide specialist advice and support to clients.</li><li>Help build and continually improve money management and financial capability.</li></ul><h3>Qualifications</h3><ul><li>Background in providing debt and welfare benefits advice (experienced).</li><li>Basic knowledge and understanding of debt and benefits issues (trainee).</li><li>Experience in an advice service or customer‑facing setting.</li><li>Willingness to undertake training and development.</li></ul><h3>Benefits</h3><ul><li>35 hour week.</li><li>25 days annual leave.</li><li>Contributory pension scheme.</li></ul><h3>Application details</h3><p>Closing date for applications: Friday, 12/06/2026, 12.00 noon.</p><p>Birmingham Settlement is committed to Equality of Opportunity and welcomes applications from all sections of the community.
