Interim Health & Safety Advisors (x2)
Day Rate : £(Apply online only) per day (Inside IR35)
Sector : Local Government
Location : Bedfordshire (Hybrid – 2–3 days office, 2–3 days home or site travel)

Qualification Required : NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
Role 1 : Operational Health & Safety Advisor
In this position, you’ll be the go-to expert for day‑to‑day health and safety management across the council’s operations.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide hands‑on H&S support across a range of operational teams
* Conduct site visits, inspections, and audits
* Advise managers on risk controls, safe working practices, and compliance
* Support incident investigations and corrective action planning
* Help drive a positive H&S culture across the organisation
Ideal Candidate
* Strong operational H&S background, ideally within public sector / local gov / care / education or complex settings
* Confident communicator who can partner with services at all levels
* Practical, solutions‑focused mindset
Role 2 : Health & Safety Advisor – Asbestos Improvements
This post centres around supporting the authority’s asbestos management improvements — a critical piece of work requiring focus, diligence, and a steady hand.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the review, improvement, and implementation of asbestos management procedures
* Work closely with compliance, estates, and external contractors
* Assist with asbestos surveys, data quality, and documentation
* Provide practical, compliant advice aligned to relevant regulations
* Help embed safe systems of work across affected services
Ideal Candidate
* Experience in asbestos management or compliance within property‑based environments
* Strong understanding of legislative requirements in terms of asbestos
* Able to turn technical detail into clear, actionable guidance
