This role is within the Payroll team, responsible for all aspects of accounting and reporting related to compensation components (payroll, bonus, tax, etc.) within the EMEA Finance team across TP ICAP.
This is a hands-on finance role suited to a self-starter with strong communication, organisational, and analytical skills. The ability to work efficiently while ensuring quality and controlled delivery of information is essential. The role involves significant interaction with other key areas of finance and HR.
Role Responsibilities
1. Manage the monthly end-to-end Compensation journal process, including accounting for:
* Monthly payroll across EMEA, including taxes and benefits
* Various bonus accruals in accordance with employment contracts
1. Assist business partners in reviewing compensation accruals and recording the relevant accounting entries
2. Ensure all processes are well documented and reviewed
3. Prepare balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all balances are backed by accurate calculations and records
4. Provide analysis to support cash flow forecasting
5. Support the preparation of the monthly balance sheet FSR pack
6. Assist in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for P&L and balance sheet
7. Contribute to the delivery of annual statutory accounts for the Group and EMEA entities
8. Embed effective risk and control frameworks to support processes
9. Handle compensation-related queries during the year-end audit
10. Build and maintain relationships with the EMEA Finance Team, Group Finance, and external auditors
11. Assist with monthly payroll tasks, including data uploads to Payroll software (Workday) and report generation
12. Undertake other reasonable duties as required
Experience / Competencies
* Previous experience in a similar environment
* Experience in delivering new reporting requirements and process improvements
* Familiarity with Oracle Financials and Workday preferred
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel (Advanced), PowerPoint, Outlook)
* Understanding of accounting principles, GAAP, and IFRS
* Knowledge of effective control environments
* Excellent written and oral communication skills at all organizational levels
* Strong organisational skills, including multi-tasking, prioritisation, and delivery
* Self-motivated, resilient, and goal-oriented with a sense of ownership
* Analytical and inquisitive mindset, capable of identifying problems and proposing solutions
