A Vacancy at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
An exciting and rewarding opportunity has arisen for an experienced clinician to join our Head and Neck Cancer and Voice team at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital, a large state-of-the-art teaching hospital. You will work with both inpatients and outpatients, primarily within the specialty of Head and Neck Cancer, with opportunities to also work in Voice.
This post is advertised at a Band 6 Specialist Speech and Language Therapist level, but suitably experienced Band 5 therapists willing to undertake a six-month structured development program from Band 5 to Band 6 will also be considered. Please note we are not accepting applications from newly qualified practitioners. We expect anyone at Band 5 to have at least one year's experience working with an adult dysphagia caseload.
You will join a well-supported, experienced team of specialist Head and Neck and Voice speech and language therapists, known for their excellent reputation within the hospital. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is part of the East of England Cancer Alliance and is the main Head and Neck Cancer site for Norfolk, Waveney, and East Suffolk. The SLT team works closely with the multidisciplinary team, attending weekly ward rounds, MDT meetings/clinics, radiotherapy clinics, and liaising with dietitians and clinical nurse specialists.
The NNUH SLT team is enthusiastic, innovative, and committed to evidence-based practice. You will receive regular supervision, participate in service development and research projects, and attend team meetings. We offer professional development opportunities, including clinical skills training in managing voice prostheses and tracheostomies, and conducting FEES and Videofluoroscopy. The team has strong links with the University of East Anglia, including involvement with the undergraduate SLT degree course and Medical School.
If you are a versatile, enthusiastic, and motivated speech and language therapist with an interest in Head and Neck Cancer and Voice disorders, and wish to join our friendly team, we would love to hear from you.
