We currently have a vacancy within the Collection Team and are looking for an enthusiastic and committed individual who wants to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment. This post is a career graded post, with opportunities to progress within the Revenues and Benefits Service area.Overview To undertake basic processing of all aspects of correspondence, including billing households/businesses, awarding discounts, disregards, exemptions and reliefs and setting up payment plansKey responsibilities include:
1. Check and validate customer documentation against strictly defined requirements, ensuring all information provided is accurate and applicable
2. Maintain accurate and detailed records and case notes on specified systems, in line with defined standards, ensuring information is current, accessible and auditable
3. Contributing ideas and suggestions to improve ways of working
4. Keeping your knowledge and skills up to datethrough online resources, publications, briefing notes and training opportunities
Please note: This is a career‑graded post, with opportunities to progress through the grades once eligibility criteria are met and subject to budget constraints.The role operates on a hybrid working basis, with a combination of home working and days based in the officeTrainingExperience in council tax and business rates is not essential as training will be given. However, some knowledge in any of those areas would be beneficial to the role.
