West Dunbartonshire Council is seeking to recruit a Lead Early Learning & Childcare Officer for Linnvale Early Learning & Childcare Centre. The role involves leading and supporting the management of a high-quality, child-centred service that caters to the needs of children and their families.
The Centre requires a Lead Early Learning and Childcare (ELC) Officer to assist in the overall management, including taking responsibility for the Centre in the absence of the Head Teacher. Responsibilities include overseeing daily management of staff and children and executing related duties effectively.
You will also support the ongoing development of the Centre to ensure it continues to meet the needs of children and families, aligned with the objectives and policies set by Education, Learning and Attainment.
This is a vital leadership position, responsible for the daily operation of the Centre and ensuring full compliance with Health and Safety regulations.
Applicants must hold a BA in Childhood Practice (or equivalent) and be registered with the SSSC (Scottish Social Services Council) or obtain registration within 6 months of appointment. Further details are available in the job profile.
Requirements
This role is considered a Regulated Role with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Further information on the scheme can be found here.
Preferred candidates will need to become members of the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check before a formal offer is made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
Responsibilities
The employment for this role is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Failure to disclose such convictions could lead to dismissal or disciplinary action in the event of employment.
