Bladder and Bowel Clinical Nurse Specialist (Band 6)
Make a meaningful difference to adults living with bladder and bowel conditions.
The BSW Adult Bladder and Bowel Service is a nurse‑led specialist team providing assessment, treatment, advice and ongoing support to adults aged 18+ with complex bladder and bowel symptoms. Working in partnership with patients, GPs and a wide range of clinical colleagues, the team also delivers education, advice and training to internal and external healthcare professionals.
This service supports communities across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon and Wiltshire. The post is based at Melksham Community Hospital, with travel across localities required to deliver care through telephone assessments, face‑to‑face clinics and home or care home visits. You will work collaboratively with specialist services including pelvic health physiotherapy, urology, colorectal, gynaecology and gastroenterology, as well as community teams such as district nursing, tissue viability, Parkinson’s and MS services.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the service during a period of development and change, where your ideas and input will be welcomed as we continue to shape and improve how care is delivered. The role is 22.5 hours per week, working Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm, with no current requirement for weekends or bank holidays.
The post may involve occasional exposure to challenging situations and patients who are distressed or confused, so resilience, professionalism and compassion are essential.
