Your Role as Learning Support Assistant As the Learning Support Assistant you will: Provide one‑to‑one and small group support across Years 1‑6, adapting to a variety of needs. Work alongside class teachers and the SENCo to deliver targeted interventions and support plans. Support children with special educational needs or additional learning needs, helping them access the curriculum and engage fully. Assist with classroom management, preparation of resources and setting up inclusive learning activities. Monitor progress of supported pupils and feedback to teachers and relevant staff. Support pupils' social, emotional and behavioural needs-helping them to develop independence, confidence and positive learning behaviours. Assist with other duties as required to support the whole‑school environment and ensure the children feel safe, supported and included. What We're Looking For We are looking for a Learning Support Assistant who: Has previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) or has transferable skills from a healthcare/support‑worker role (e.g., understanding of personal care, behaviour support, communication skills). Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills, able to build trusting relationships with children, staff and parents. Is patient, empathetic and committed to enabling all children to succeed. Can work flexibly across Years 1-6 in the setting and respond effectively to differing needs throughout the school day. Is confident working as part of a team and willing to engage with training and professional development as a Learning Support Assistant.
