About The Business Unit: The Energy unit delivers services globally across hydropower, nuclear, waste, renewable generation and transmission & distribution networks. We provide integrated engineering and project management across the project lifecycle to support the energy transition.
Overview Of Role: The Nuclear: Defence and Civil division is recruiting Senior Structural Engineers to join a fast growing team working on a diverse portfolio spanning defence, nuclear, other energy and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
* Oversee all phases of project development, from feasibility and conceptual design to detailed engineering, planning support, construction, and commissioning.
* Collaborate on multi-disciplinary projects, coordinating with internal Mott MacDonald engineers and external clients/stakeholders to deliver cost-effective infrastructure solutions.
* Support discipline leads and/or independently perform analysis, design, and verification of reinforced concrete and structural steelwork using industry-standard design and analysis software.
* Develop clear, precise specifications and minimum functional requirements for the civil/structural engineering aspects of nuclear projects in English.
* Conduct site visits and attend client offices as needed to support project requirements.
* Mentor and provide guidance to Graduate Structural Engineers, fostering their technical development and professional growth.
Requirements
* Experience with software packages commonly used in structural design such as Robot, Tekla Structural Designer, and TEDDS
* High quality technical skills in structural engineering
* Chartered engineer status as a member of a relevant institution
* Experience across all stages of design through to construction
* Strong collaboration and communication skills
* Proactive and energetic approach to work, with commitment to delivering excellence
* Sense of ownership and accountability for responsibilities
* Dedication to continuous learning, with interest in expanding technical expertise and developing new skills
