We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for an on-site Facilities Manager at HMYOI Stoke Heath.

Standard hours of work: 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

At Amey, we support our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS), by providing safe, clean, and efficient prisons. We manage over 60 secure premises across England and Wales, ensuring smooth operations through our facilities management expertise.


Role Overview

The Facilities Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring that planned and reactive maintenance within the prisons is conducted safely, compliantly, and promptly.


What you will do:

1. Achieve and maintain Statutory and Mandatory Compliance.
2. Identify hazards and complete risk assessments to mitigate risks.
3. Ensure staff awareness and adherence to the Health and Safety Policy.
4. Maintain H&S standards across the contract.
5. Implement and comply with all corporate policies and procedures.
6. Oversee day-to-day operations and strategic management of the estate/building for the client.
7. Conduct audits and spot checks to ensure service quality from employees and sub-contractors.
8. Achieve KPIs and ensure staff understand their roles in service delivery.
9. Perform first-line management duties, including disciplinary and employment processes.
10. Update the Environmental Management System and ensure environmental measures are followed.
11. Support local and business zero carbon initiatives, working strategically towards zero carbon.
12. Generate revenue through additional works and monitor the P&L for the site.


What you will bring:

1. Recognised and relevant technical or FM qualification.
2. Knowledge of health and safety legislation and policy implementation.
3. Experience with statutory and mandatory compliance and external audits.
4. Understanding of service delivery and KPIs.
5. Experience in budgeting and cost management.
6. First-line management experience.
7. Customer relationship management skills.
8. Clear, technical, and sensitive communication style.
