Overview

Those huge small victories

Working in our Children’s Homes means being a part of a young person’s day to day life. This role involves being there for the highest highs and lowest lows. Our support workers enable our young people to get their childhood back and create pathways to become well rounded adults. There will be challenges along the way, but there will also be small moments that feel like a huge victory.

Our homes accommodate young people with social, emotional and mental health needs, and our aim is to create the best possible outcome for the young people in our care. Our support workers are fulfilled by the idea of affecting even the smallest positive changes in our young people, so we celebrate the little things. Check out this video on what life as a Children\u2019s Residential Support Worker is like.

Role expectations

You’ll take care of our young people day to day, ensuring things run smoothly and creating lasting memories. This involves making sure they are up and ready for school, helping with homework, completing paperwork and planning activities. Evenings and weekends include activities such as playing games, football, film days or outings. The work is varied and matters because it focuses on each young person’s needs, personality and potential and guides them toward a positive future.

What we do for you

We know you’re going to do great things. For your hard work and commitment, we offer a competitive salary and benefits package in the care sector. You’ll have opportunities to make a genuine difference in the lives of our young people, including:

* Salary: Base salary of £29,034 - £35,400
* Bonuses: Up to 4 sleep ins per month, paid at £80 per sleep (approx. £3,840 per year) and £1,400 Attendance Allowance (assuming good attendance)
* Training: A full 4-week induction on our Care Academy
* Holiday: 7 weeks’ holiday
* Progression: Most team leaders and managers have been promoted from within our group; Aspire future managers programme
* Flexible benefits package: adjust holiday allowance, pension and life insurance
* Wellbeing: wellbeing tools and employee assistance
* Medical cover: claim back costs for opticians or dentist appointments and access to high-street discounts
* Meals provided while you’re at work
* Beautiful working environments with excellent facilities
* Recruitment bonus: "+1,000" for referrals

Bring your whole-self to work. We celebrate everyone’s differences and reflect diversity in our workforce to engage, encourage and inspire our young people to be themselves. You don’t need experience, but we will be looking for:

* A can-do attitude and team spirit
* Honesty and empathy
* Resilience to handle challenging situations
* A full UK driving licence held for at least 12 months
* If you don’t have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent), we’ll pay for study and support you

You’ll start life as an RSW by joining our Care Academy – 4 weeks of off-the-job training with experienced professionals to help you feel confident and ready to support our young people.
