About the role
As a Partner on our service counters, you'll have the opportunity to demonstrate your knowledge and passion for food while feeling proud of how it is ethically sourced. You will recommend recipes to customers and actively bring our ethos — passionate Partners serving food lovers — to life.
You will use your enthusiasm and friendliness to build lasting relationships with customers, positively influencing their impression of the Waitrose brand. Your efforts will help earn their trust and loyalty, encouraging repeat visits, while also supporting sales and profit growth.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for your food counter, ensuring high presentation and hygiene standards.
* Monitor stock levels to ensure popular products are available.
* Handle open food carefully, following health & safety protocols to reduce wastage.
* Maintain knowledge of new products and understand Waitrose's food values, such as animal welfare.
* Support the wider shop team with general shopkeeping tasks as needed.
Essential skills/experience
* Effective communication skills for teamwork and customer interaction.
Desirable skills/experience
* Experience in a customer-facing role.
* Experience in catering or hospitality.
* Interest in food and drink trends.
* Flexible approach to support the branch.
Part-time hours up to 19 hours per week, across seven days, including early mornings, late evenings, and weekends, between 0700hrs and 2100hrs.
