We have worked with our client for over10 years and during this time seen them move from a traditional developer/house builder, to working in partnership with LAs and HAs in providing small to medium sized affordable housing in and around London. This model is proving to be high successful and eliminates many of the risk associated with private residential. Together with the MD penetrating the RP’s, they also have a very influential partnerships director who is promoting the business across numerous HA’s. Given the change in direction and the company taking on larger schemes, they are now looking to bring in a new construction director to oversee the delivery of their current and future developments. This will including managing project teams, working with the planning and design team and implementing recommendations to improve the client offering. The MD, whilst understanding the build process, is not from a traditional construction background and therefore it is imperative he has someone he can rely upon to oversee production and the appointment of sub-contractors. Together with a good package including the possibility of equity, there is also the opportunity to earn good bonuses and whilst there is a permanent role, you will not be working for a large corporate so there is some flexibility regarding hours and working remotely. You must be able to demonstrate longevity in previous roles and ideally have worked with LA’s/ HA’s. You will be from a residential build background and whilst the client will consider candidates from a large housebuilder, you would need to appreciate the differences in working for an SME.
