We are seeking an experienced Asbestos Supervisor who is looking to progress into a Contracts Manager position. This role is designed to develop the successful candidate’s skills in project management, commercial awareness, and client liaison, while maintaining responsibility for safe and compliant site supervision. We would also be interested in an existing contracts manager who is happy to supervise.
The role will involve a gradual transition from hands‑on supervision to a more strategic, office and client facing position.
Key Responsibilities
Site Supervision & Compliance
* Supervise asbestos removal works in accordance with the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012 (CAR 2012)
* Ensure all works are completed in line with approved Plans of Work and risk assessments
* Maintain high standards of health & safety, ensuring exposure is kept as low as reasonably practicable
* Conduct site inspections, audits, and daily briefings (toolbox talks)
* Liaise with analysts, clients, and internal teams to ensure smooth project delivery
Operational & Project Support (Development Area)
* Assist Contracts Managers with:
* Planning and programming of works
* Resource allocation (labour, plant, and equipment)
* Reviewing asbestos surveys and specifications
* Support in preparing risk assessments, method statements, and tenders
* Monitor project progress and report on performance, delays, or issues
Client & Stakeholder Communication
* Act as a key point of contact on site for clients and stakeholders
* Build and maintain professional working relationships
* Support Contracts Managers in client meetings and updates
Leadership & Development
* Lead, motivate, and mentor site operatives
* Promote a positive safety culture and high performance standards
* Demonstrate readiness to take on increased responsibility
Person Specification
* Experience as an Asbestos Supervisor within licensed removal works across a wide range of projects
* Strong knowledge of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012
* Proven ability to manage teams and maintain safe systems of work
* Good communication and organisational skills
* Ambition to progress into a Contracts Manager role
* Willing to travel & stay way as required
* Experience assisting with project planning or costing
* Familiarity with client-facing responsibilities
* Strong IT skills (Excel, reporting tools, etc.)
* Relevant training/qualifications (e.g. Supervisor tickets, SMSTS)

* Structured development plan toward Contracts Manager
