About the role
We are recruiting a Temporary Payroll Specialist to support the Finance Manager with the accurate and compliant delivery of UK payroll across our manufacturing sites. This role requires hands‑on payroll experience and regular interaction with stakeholders across the business.
Key responsibilities
* End‑to‑end processing of UK payroll for employees and pensioners
* Maintaining payroll systems, records and payroll data
* Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation, pensions, Auto Enrolment and RTI
* Preparing and submitting year‑end payroll requirements to meet statutory deadlines
* Preparing third‑party payment requests and ensuring timely payment
* Responding to payroll queries from employees across the UK
* Supporting internal and external payroll audits, including SOX requirements
* Carrying out weekly and monthly minimum wage checks
* Supporting the Finance Manager with ad‑hoc payroll and finance tasks
Skills, knowledge and experience
* Strong technical payroll knowledge and up‑to‑date understanding of legislation
* Good IT skills, including Excel and payroll systems
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet deadlines
* Effective communication skills and ability to work with multiple stakeholders
* Experience in a manufacturing environment is desirable but not essential
