Job Description:
APM Terminals is seeking an Information Modeler to design and implement business information models supporting data-driven initiatives. The role involves working closely with data architects, analysts, and software engineers to ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of information models, and maintaining their documentation and metadata. The successful candidate will have expertise in information modelling tools, industry standards like ISO, UNCEFACT, TIC4.0, SMDG, DSCA, ISA-95, and modelling languages like UML and Archimate. Responsibilities include developing information models, gathering requirements, creating data dictionaries, facilitating workshops, and staying current with industry best practices. A degree in computer science, information science, or similar is required. This position offers an exciting opportunity within a diverse, international environment focused on operational excellence and digital transformation.
The role is critical in developing a future execution platform for APM terminals, supporting planning and execution processes, and contributing to the enterprise information model. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and able to communicate complex data concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Principal Accountabilities include:
1. Developing information models for future operational systems.
2. Gathering and clarifying requirements with stakeholders.
3. Applying data modelling tools and technologies.
4. Creating and maintaining data dictionaries and metadata repositories.
5. Documenting and communicating model designs and standards.
6. Optimizing database performance based on data model inputs.
7. Facilitating modelling workshops and stakeholder communication.
8. Staying updated with industry best practices.
Qualifications and Skills:
* Strong understanding of business information modelling concepts.
* Experience with modelling tools and standards.
* Knowledge of industry standards like ISO, UNCEFACT, TIC4.0, SMDG, DSCA, ISA-95.
* Proficiency in UML, Archimate, and BPMN.
* EDI experience.
* Excellent communication skills in English.
* Degree in relevant field.
